We are a family owned UK business with an infectious passion for all things Jack Daniels and Bourbon. We are on a mission to spread the joy of our discoveries to anyone with a similar smouldering ambition or willingness to explore new liquor experiences.
Our journey all started when I (Nicola) innocently purchased my loving husband (Dean) a bottle of Jack Daniels that I hadn’t seen on sale in the UK before. Little did I know that this would instantly ignite an inner flame in Dean and propel him on a journey to becoming a knowledgeable Jack Daniels and Bourbon enthusiast and dedicated collector.
Unsurprisingly, rather than dismissing his newfound “hobby” I too got swept along on the journey and we now work closely together to develop Bootlegge Liquor and open up the endless possibilities our refined knowledge can bring to our customers.
Dean loves nothing more than to open and taste every new brand or release onto the market, and you may say he is obsessed with knowing all things Bourbon.
His passion drives his curiosity to continually discover new products, brands, tastes, and blends, and you can be assured that every Bourbon or Jack Daniels we promote, and sell, has passed the rigorous”Dean Approval Process”!
So if you read a glowing review of a brand or new release, this is a true reflection of what we personally believe and has not been, in any way, influenced by corporate investment or incentives.
This puts us in the unique position to offer completely independent, impartial advice and insights based on a decade of getting to know (almost) everything there is to know about our passion.
Our journey also introduced us to the history of Bourbon, the American liquor trade and specifically the fascinating stories around ‘Prohibition’. This period from 1920-1933 is one of the most interesting in American History, an era that never fails to reveal surprising and often unbelievable stories of crime, corruption, and business opportunities such as that of the infamous ‘Bootleggers’.
With the surname Legge, some may say it was inevitable that we were destined to go down this path of Bourbon enlightenment and open up our very own Bootlegge Liquor Store.
In addition to a wide range of popular whiskeys, our store specialises in rare Jack Daniels and Bourbon that you won’t necessarily see for sale in the UK. Make sure to visit us frequently so as not to miss out on one of our latest discoveries.
We strive to deliver a high level of service alongside that personal touch, and are also proud to support our local charities. We are 100% committed to donating £1 from every bottle sold in our store to local food banks or children’s charities.
